Matte, moisturising or liquid lipstick: which one is for you?
Every lipstick type has a different feel and staying power. The difference between matte, moisturising, liquid lipstick and gloss, and when to choose each.
Lipstick is the fastest way to change a look, but its type decides how it looks and how long it lasts. A quick guide to choosing.
Matte lipstick
Rich colour with no shine that lasts a long time, great for occasions and long days. Because it can feel dry, apply a light lip balm first and wait a minute.
Moisturising lipstick
Soft, creamy texture with a light shine, comfortable for every day and for dry lips. It lasts less than matte, so reapply after eating.
Liquid lipstick
Applied with its own wand for strong colour and a precise edge. Creamy liquid lipstick feels soft and comfortable while giving clear colour.
Lip gloss
Shine and shimmer: lovely alone for a soft look, or on top of lipstick in the centre of the lips for a fuller look.
Tips for longer wear
- Line your lips with a liner close to the lipstick shade and fill them in lightly first.
- Apply one coat, blot gently with a tissue, then apply a second coat.
- Choose nude and pink for daytime, red and berry for the evening.
